Managing Your Web Site

How to access the Go Network systems and manage your web site.

Each Go Network web site consists of three parts. Understanding how these parts fit together will help you manage you customers accounts and adverts with ease.

There are lots of training videos to help you here or click on Online Demonstrations in the green navigation bar above.

Website Users View Back Office View Customer Billing View

When people view your web site they see the users view.

This is the type of view you will have seen of other peoples web sites.

The users view is what the designer/administrator of the site intends for the general public to see and cannot be edited it can only be viewed.

The user can also use the navigation links of the site to move around the pages to find what they are looking for.

Something like
www.goyourtown.co.uk

This is were you can do magical things to your website and change any part of the sites content and adverts.

As well as changing the adverts you can update Directories (top left buttons) and Headings (the links that show below the directory buttons)

Each Directory Home Page contains text and images which display down the centre column. All the text and the images including the images in the slide show can be changed and you will need to do this to reflect your own town.

Don't worry it's easy to do.

Something like
www.goyourtown.co.uk/backoffice

More information below

From the back office view you can enter the billing system and add customer accounts and advertising packages and go on to create their invoices and add their payments.

The billing system will keep track of your advertising renewals too.

There is a particular process you need to follow to start adding adverts to your site. First the customers account must be added and then an advertising package is added to that customers account.

Adding an advertising package will generate the invoice for the set amount automatically. Once you add the full payment you have received from the customer an invoice is automatically emailed to them.

You can also print the invoice to send to the customer or file for your own records.

The first time you access the mail manager you will need to use the default administrator log in details, they are;

User Name: admin@admin.com and

Remember to change your administrator log in details right away so that your mail manager is secure.

From 1/6/2007 for new sites set up after this date, you can log in using your own email address and your backoffice login password.

The landing pages of your Go Network web site run outside of the advertising, backoffice and billing system.

They are in place to allow you to customise and personalise the initial pages that a site visitor will see, hence we call them Landing Pages.

It's easy to access your landing pages to change them. Enter the domain name for your Go Network web site and follow it with /Administration and press enter on your keyboard.
Every Go Network web site has a web log (Blog) which can be used. Its a new feature and you are not required to use it but i would recommend you do.

You can find your blog easily by entering a slightly different domain name to your Go Network web site.

Just replace the www. with blog.

Something like;
blog.goyourtown.co.uk

To gain access to edit your blog follow your domain name with /Administration

Once you have logged in for the first time it's recommended that you create your own log in account as an administrator and then delete the default one.

The blog also uses the same application as the landing pges.
